Our newly renovated hotel is ready for guests to tuck in!

If winter has been beckoning you to dig out that dusty suitcase from under the bed and go somewhere fun, the Comfort Inn and Suites Choice Hotel in Medicine Hat has just the event for you to attend. On March 6 from noon to 4 p.m., the Comfort Inn and Suites is holding a special re-launch event for the public to see its new renovations and also to announce some exciting news. Read on to see what’s in store.

Bring a Suitcase and Win a Free Night at one of the Best Hotels in Medicine Hat

An open house, our re-launch party is open to everyone and anyone who is curious to see what work has been done to our Medicine Hat highway hotel, which is located just off the Trans Canada Highway and adjacent to the Medicine Hat Mall.

Best of all, those who bring an overnight bag or suitcase will be entered to win a free night in one of our newly renovated Medicine Hat hotel suites. There’s no need to pack our bag, as you can use the free night on a date of your choosing, says Carrie Bruce, Comfort Inn and Suites general manager, who will be in attendance at the party along with some very special guests.

Who’s on Board

Our re-launch party will give you the chance to rub elbows with dignitaries such as Medicine Hat Mayor Ted Clugston and Drew Barnes, MLA for Cypress-Medicine Hat, who will help us open our newly renovated hotel. Instead of the standard ribbon cutting, we will feature a special saw cutting to keep up with the construction theme of the event. We hope to frame the resulting piece.

In addition, Medicine Hat radio station CJCY-FM will be doing a live broadcast from the event, including on-site interviews and other special announcements.

Special guests also include a Choice Hotels representative and Lloyd Daser, Director of Operations at The Braemar Group, the hospitality development company responsible for our Medicine Hat hotel renovations.

Take a Tour of Our Newly Renovated Rooms

Guests will not only enjoy refreshments but will have the opportunity to see our newly renovated rooms and suites. All 100 hotel rooms, which include 24 executive suites, five oversized Jacuzzi suites, and one two-level honeymoon suite, have received new modern and bright furnishings as well as a fresh coat of paint and wall coverings. The bathrooms have also been refreshed with new showers featuring glass partitions and bathtubs in the family rooms. In addition, our pool area has also been updated with a new hot tub, while our meeting room and other common areas have been freshly wallpapered.

See the ReStore Display

Not only is the re-launch a way to show the public what changes have been made to the Comfort Inn and Suites, but it is also a way to show how you can give back to the community through sustainable and humanitarian means.

We did that by donating most of the hotel’s old furniture —desks, chairs, tables, hide-a-beds, dressers, lamps, pictures, etc.— to be recycled and sold through Habitat for Humanity’s Medicine Hat ReStore. All proceeds from the furniture are going towards building a home in Medicine Hat by Habitat for Humanity.

ReStore will have a display at the re-launch event to show where the money goes and how it is spent.

A ReStore Medicine Hat display will be part of the re-launching of the Comfort Inn and Suites Choice Hotel in Medicine Hat on March 6.
